The motivation behind the online oscilloscope was to provide a way for students to learn to use an oscilloscope without being concerned with damaging equipment or using it incorrectly in front of colleaugues or tutors. The COVID-19 pandemic was a catalyst for putting the simulation together but since I started teaching I have been an advocate of using online tools and resources to help students learn new concepts and skills.
